December 22, 2016: This past week was a sad week in Sag Harbor, the Sag Harbor theater was burned and had to be demolished, it is an iconic place in Sag Harbor. One of my favorite stores Collette Consignment and my favorite coffee shop SaggTown were also destroyed in the fire. I hope they choose to rebuild.

YAWP 2016 High School Playwrights Performance
Yesterday was such an exciting day for me, seeing my play come to life was definitely a highlight in my life. My favorite class this semester has to be my Creative Writing/Journalism class with Mr. Shulman. I had an opportunity to participate in the YAWP "The Young Artists & Writers Project" and it has shown me that I really do have a passion for telling a story. This year my play "Memory of the Night" was 1 of 6 plays selected out of 100 to be produced and directed in front of a live audience. It is about a young girl struggling with the memory of being abused. Many thanks to Anna Francesca Schiavoni and Dylan Kaminski for their ability to bring Jenna and The Memory to life. They did such an amazing job, see for yourself, my dad taped it and you can watch it. My play was directed by Valerie diLorenzo and it was amazing. In a couple of weeks you will be able to read the play on http://yawpezine.com

My inspiration did not come from personal real experience but rather my time volunteering as a Teen Ambassador for the RETREAT Teen Leadership Program...an organization that prevents abuse and promotes respect in all relationships and to help support The Retreat and expand its focus to include the prevention not just of domestic violence, but also of all sorts of relationship abuse, including bullying and harassment, sexual assault, and teen dating violence.
I focus so much on being an athlete I sometimes forget about my other interests, I love telling stories and I am excited to write my next play. My parents said who knew you were a play-writer, but my mom said this does not surprise me because you are talented and there is nothing you cannot accomplish if you believe in yourself. Who knows maybe my play might even make it to off-broadway, anything could happen.
